Strategic
Partnerships & Communications

No matter what I do, I truly believe in community, collaboration and connection – I am always centering in relationships and seeking to understand and help people be seen and heard. I often say it is vital to “meet people where they are” and that is certainly true in strategic partnerships and communication.

The How…

  • Discovering their motivations

    Respecting their capacity

Setting them up for success with the best information, preparation and resources

  • Thoughtfully engaging hard-to-reach constituents, centering intentionality, practicality, and honesty

Dancing between virtual and in-person mediums – and knowing when one is better than the other (virtual can still be great!)

Honoring budget realities and prioritizing quality

  • Elevating diverse stories and celebrating wins

Curating content that people need: relevant resources, purposeful information, moments of joy

Anchoring in consistency – regular updates but not a bombardment to the inbox

“Rebecca built key relationships with influential decision-makers by showcasing a mix of her leadership skills, technical competencies and entrepreneurial approach to designing solutions that met the goals of all stakeholders while she remained a trusted collaborative partner.

A common thread across Rebecca's work leading strategic partnerships and building trust is her ability to intentionally listen, analyze complex data points, and turn challenges into opportunities.”

Coalition Building

I have found that coalition-building efforts are a critical lever for impactful strategic partnerships. I have driven the launch of two coalitions during my career, in both veteran and education spaces. I have found that the strongest coalitions are consensus-driven, mutually beneficial, and widely inclusive.

As a coalition builder, I:

  • Anchor in community need

  • Create spaces for honest conversation

  • Encourage cross-pollination and solution-oriented brainstorming

  • Synthesize information to be digestible and accessible

  • Ask probing questions

Rob Barea, Community Leader

“When Rebecca calls, I rarely, if ever, have to ask questions as she already knows what I am capable of, what I want to do, and what I am willing to do. Rebecca shows up as a leader by creating environments and operations that allow individuals to showcase their talent and 'special sauce.'"

Janaia Nash, Programs Lead

“Rebecca approaches strategic relationships as a true partner — grounded, thoughtful, and always focused on mutual benefit. She is skilled at demonstrating clear value and return on investment for all involved, which builds trust and lasting impact.”
